James Franco Stars As ‘Multiple Man’ In Upcoming X-men Spinoff

James Franco is not a newbie to superhero movies having starred in the first three Spider-man movies as Harry Osborne.

Earlier on, James Franco had indicated interest and had said he loved how 20 Century FOX was interpreting the superhero genre particularly with the success of Deadpool and Logan respectively. This is no surprise especially considering James Franco’s exploration of the comedy genre (particularly stoner comedy) in recent movies.

James Franco has finally confirmed that he would be played Multiple- Man in an upcoming movie set in the X-men universe with producer Simon Kinberg.

Multiple Man (James ‘Jamie’ Madrox) is a mutant with the ability to create duplicates of himself upon physical contact. Jamie’s ‘dupes’ are usually possess different personalities and quirks which is usually interesting to see in the comics. They are all connected to the original Jamie and he retains all the knowledge and skills the dupes possess when he reabsorbs them. This makes Jamie very vast intellectually although as a side effect he’s also slightly unstable.

It will be interesting to see what direction they would take this. James Franco has already said the movie will be a ‘Hard R’ as he intends to push the boundaries of the superhero genre even further.

One might also argue that his role in ‘The Deuce’ is a preparation for the Multiple Man mantle.

Who can tell?

I guess we’re going to have to wait to find out.

Until next time folks.
