Math, Science, History… The Big Bang Theory Continues

Yaay!

The Big Bang Theory is back for its eleventh season.

We’re a few episodes in already and I have to applaud the show for its consistency.

At the end of the last season, I had some serious doubts about the plot direction. Okay, so spoilers coming up, if you haven’t seen season ten or started season eleven, this would be the time to leave.

Good.

The last season ended with Sheldon going over to Princeton to propose to Amy. I can’t say I was a huge fan of this at the time because a part of me wanted them to leave those details to the imagination of the audience.

In retrospect, I thought that was the last season and I wanted the end of the Sheldon/Amy dynamic to be a mystery. Even if we could all guess that eventually, they’d end up getting married, I didn’t want to see it on screen.

With the start of a new season of The Big Bang Theory, I’m more relaxed about it and I’m pumped to see what comes next. I suspect that this season will end with the wedding of Sheldon and Amy, which is an incredible way to end the season in my opinion.

However before the season ends, there are a couple of plot elements I’d love them to address. The first is Raj.

At the beginning of the show, Raj was in some ways the most balanced character in the group but that started to change slowly when he overcame his fear of talking to women. Initially, I thought it was brilliant and I expected to see him grow from that point.

Fast forward to the present and Raj is the most damaged character in The Big Bang Theory. In some ways, he’s even more damaged than Stuart who is pretty messed up. I really hope this season is this season and the creators do him some justice.

My second concern is Stuart. He’s one of those characters who starts off as a side character but over time gaining relevance in a reoccurring supporting role. As much as I love him (and I get a few good laughs out of him), there are times when I ask myself what he’s doing in the show.

Now I know you might say this is a sitcom and I’m probably overthinking it (blah blah blah), but I think he needs a little more development. This season started with the right idea and I hope we get to see a bit more of him in coming weeks.

The rest of the cast seems great for now although I’m pretty certain Leonard will bother me very soon (He always does).

Anyway, that’s it from me today folks.

Later.
