These 10 Anime are the Reason I Can’t Wait for 2018

So, i wrote about how i can’t wait for One Punch Man season 2 to come out and how there was some news as to the production company and so on. Well, the whole thing made me start thinking; which anime am i most looking forward to next year?

Below is a list of 10 that i literally cannot wait for. For it to qualify, it has to be confirmed for next year, so sorry, but no Code Geass 🙁

10

One Punch Man Season 2

Release Date: Sometime in 2018

Who else is eager to see the bald-headed, impossible to defeat Saitama return? I’ll just assume everyone has their hands up. The anime is set to come out sometime next year and with rumours swirling around that Saitama might actually face off with an enemy that will give him a hard time, i can’t wait to see it.

Shingeki No Kyojin Season 3

Release Date- April 2018

The end sequence for season 2 still haunts me at night. It looks like the adventures of Eren (noise maker), Mikasa (Girl every guy wants to date) and Armin (professional third wheel) continues. While season one was an action packed blockbuster, season 2 was more mellow and because of this, season 2 of Shingeki is actually scarier as there’s this pervasive mood of unease in almost every scene.

It’ll be interesting to see what direction season 3 goes in, but as long as they keep churning out incredible stuff, we’ll keep watching.

Fate/Extra Last Encore

Release Date: January 2018

I haven’t seen Fate Apocrypha yet, but i’m certain i’m going to like it. it seems we’ll be getting new characters as there’s no Shirou, Saber et al.

The synopsis for the show reads: Waking up in a strange virtual world with no recollection of the past, Hakuno finds himself forced to fight for survival in a war he does not understand for a prize beyond value; the opportunity to have one’s wish granted. With only an enigmatic “Servant” by his side, Hakuno Kishinami will have to face both friends and foes in battles to the death in order to not only gain possession of a mysterious object known as the “Holy Grail,” but also to find the answer to the most important question of all: “Who am I?”

I hope it’s as good as Fate/Zero which most people will agree is the best installment in the Fate series so far.

7

Toaru Majutsu No Index III

Release Date: Sometime in 2018

This is one that’s going to fly under the radar, but i liked the first two seasons. It tells the  story of Kamijo Touma who has the power to negate all magic with his right hand (making him a nightmare to fight against) and Index, the Nun from the church who has been injected with the Index Librorum Prohibitorum—all the magical texts the Church has removed from circulation. This makes her valuable and a target for good and bad guys.

I don’t know what direction Season 3 is going to take seeing as Season 2 tried to sew things up, but it’ll be worth a watch when it is released.

6

Nanatsu no Taizai: Imashime no Fukkatsu

Release Date: January 2018

BAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can’t wait to see him. Welcome back 7 deadly sins! The first season was a smash hit with everyone enjoying the antics of the omega perv Meliodas and his band of super strong, super weird followers.

Again the storyline for the second season is sketchy, but i don’t care, i just want to see more Ban and Meliodas.

5

Fairy Tail 2018

Release Date: Sometime in 2018

Natsu, the useless Lucy and the rest of the gang are going to return in season 3. Seasons 1 and 2 have been hailed by many for its unique mix of action and comedy. Season 2 ended with the guild being disbanded and Natsu going on like a year long training mission.

He comes back and his power is indescribable. He was the only one shown which means the likes of Grey, Erza and Wendy would also have grown stronger and if any of them is as strong as Natsu, then we’re looking at One Piece levels of power.

The very last scene shows Natsu and Lucy heading out to find the rest of the guild members and with a battle with Zeref somewhere in the horizon, you can be sure that thy’re going to need all the power they can get.

4

Overlord II

Release Date: January 2018

If you saw Overlord then you’ll know that in terms of OP(overpowered) characters, no one is as awesome as Momonga (except perhaps Saitama and Mob). His design was amazing. It was like looking at how Spawn would have been as a good guy.

His powers were endless, but he was still stuck in a game, so that means there’s still a story to continue. He will be back in season 2 and i can’t wait to see what they have to offer us.

3

Boku No Hero Academia Season 3

Release Date: Sometime in 2018

Midorima will be learning a whole lot more than just the full cowl for his One for All power. With a battle with the league of Villains, new bad guys and the end of the first semester, there are so many ways this story could go.

All Might is dying, All for One is on the move, Midorima is beginning to understand his power and Bakugou is…well…Bakugou.

The first and second seasons were wild successes and i’m certain the 3rd season will be just as good. I can’t wait.

2

Steins; Gate Zero

Release Date: Sometime in 2018

I loved Steins; Gate

I really, really, really, loved Steins; Gate.

That’s why it’s so high on my list. When i heard there was another season i went ballistic! I’m so pleased.

The synopsis says; An alternate ending to Steins;Gate that leads with the eccentric mad scientist Okabe, struggling to recover from a failed attempt at rescuing Kurisu. He decides to give up and abandons his lively scientist alter ego, in pursuit to forget the past. When all seems to be normal, he is seemingly pulled back into the past by meeting an acquaintance of Kurisu, who tells him that they have begun testing a device that stores the memory of a human and creates a simulation of them with their characteristics and personalities. Okabe begins testing and finds out that the simulation of Kurisu has brought back anguish and some new unexpected tragedies

So you can imagine that this one is going to be haunting. The first one was especially when Mayuri kept dying (I loved that girl, for the longest time i greeted everyone with a jovial ‘tu turu’ sound). It’s am alternate world somewhat so maybe we shouldn’t take the tragedy too serious and just assume that there’s a happier version of Rin somewhere.

1

High School DxD Hero

Release Date: Sometime in 2018

I don’t have to explain myself to you! You’re not my dad!

I loved this anime for all the wrong reasons. It was pervy, weird and dodgy, but man i loved it. So another season of gratuitous boob showing and the like is just what i want.

Go and argue with your American animation

So that’s my list. Have any anime you’re looking forward to that isn’t on the list? Let’s know what you think in the comments below.

Till later
