Throwback Thursday: Tomb Raider Is Going to be My Obsession for a While

So for those who have already played it, congratulations. For those who played it at the time of its release; More grease to your hardworking elbows, but for those of you who buy Steam games on sale years after the game was popular and are just wondering about getting Tomb Raider– we’re kin!

And to you guys i say; BUY THIS GAME

Anyone who is a fan of Lara Croft will love this reimagining of her as a gritty survivor who went through hell.

I got the game on Steam months ago and because i was afraid my system wouldn’t be able to handle the graphics i waited an age to play it, but then i figured that if i could play Batman: Arkham City on my system then Tomb Raider should be able to work as long as i didn’t go crazy on the graphics. And work it did, i was so excited.

So this iteration of Tomb Raider tells the story of Lara before she became Lara.

Tomb Raider explores the intense and gritty origin story of Lara Croft and her ascent from a young woman to a hardened survivor. Armed only with raw instincts and the ability to push beyond the limits of human endurance, Lara must fight to unravel the dark history of a forgotten island to escape its relentless hold. Download the Turning Point trailer to see the beginning of Lara’s epic adventure.

So i started the game and i have been hooked ever since. I am not far in but i’m far enough to tell you that it’s totally worth it. The graphics are great, the story is great and it didn’t lose out on the puzzle factor so you’re still going to need to use your brain to play this one.

It might disappoint some people that the game isn’t very long, but all in all it’s a good game that i’d recommend to anyone looking for a relatively old game with some life in it.

I’m going back to play

Till later
